Ingredients:
- 1 cup of long-grain rice
- 1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh mint
- 1/4 cup of chopped fresh dill
- 1/4 cup of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 jar of grape leaves, drained and rinsed
- Water, for cooking
Instructions:
- In a bowl, combine the rice, parsley, mint, dill, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Take a grape leaf and place it on a flat surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the rice mixture onto the leaf, near the stem end.
- Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top, forming a small cigar shape. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.
- Place the dolmas in a large pot, seam side down, in a single layer. Pour enough water over the dolmas to cover them.
- Place a heavy plate or lid on top of the dolmas to weigh them down and prevent them from unraveling during cooking.
- Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the rice is cooked and tender.
- Once cooked, remove the dolmas from the pot and let them cool slightly before serving.
Enjoy your homemade Dolmas as a delicious appetizer or side dish. They are perfect for sharing with family and friends!
