Easy and Delicious: Homemade Dolmas Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of long-grain rice
  • 1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh mint
  • 1/4 cup of chopped fresh dill
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 jar of grape leaves, drained and rinsed
  • Water, for cooking

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, combine the rice, parsley, mint, dill, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  2. Take a grape leaf and place it on a flat surface. Spoon about a tablespoon of the rice mixture onto the leaf, near the stem end.
  3. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly from the bottom to the top, forming a small cigar shape. Repeat with the remaining grape leaves and filling.
  4. Place the dolmas in a large pot, seam side down, in a single layer. Pour enough water over the dolmas to cover them.
  5. Place a heavy plate or lid on top of the dolmas to weigh them down and prevent them from unraveling during cooking.
  6. Bring the water to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and simmer for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, or until the rice is cooked and tender.
  7. Once cooked, remove the dolmas from the pot and let them cool slightly before serving.

Enjoy your homemade Dolmas as a delicious appetizer or side dish. They are perfect for sharing with family and friends!
